Ok, I have Vonage service on the vonage-provided box. I just bought a new WRTP54G and I was going to login to the admin screens and clone the MAC address so it works with my service.

When I log into new linksys box at 192.168.15.1 it asks for username/password which I provide and then I am presented with an error:

"Content-type: text/html Error. Accessing page outside of html tree. Exiting"

I tried a hard reset of the router and still get same result... Any Ideas. I've contacted Linksys, but am awaiting reply.

What web browser are you using? Trying IE, Mozilla, and Opera might be worth a shot...

I'm using IE. The browser works fine with other Linksys models... I belive it is the router itself

What ATA are you using or are you "replacing" the Vonage issued WRT54G - if so I do not believe it will work.

As best as I can tell 192.168.15.1 is for a Vonage issued WRTP54G and not a comp usa/circuit city/best but purchased one.

My guess is that 192.168.1.1 will get you to the admin page.

Of course I am taking best guess and may actually be wrong and if so you may disregard this message.

Nope. 192.168.15.1 is correct even for a store-bought unit. That was the default for mine.

I suspect this unit is defective and you should get a replacement.

Ok, believe it or not if I clicked the canel button on the login screen it asks me to login again, and using the default password it lets me login this time. I manages to upgrade the firmware (to .37) and then it updated itself further (to .50). I changes the MAC Address to that of my old unit, and I get "Provisioning succeded" but still no line status or dial tone.... still looking.

did you power cycle everything afterwards? what I mean is, did you shut down PC, then unplug cable modem and router for like 30 seconds, then plug the cable modem back in first and wait till all the lights are lite up, then plug in router and then turn on PC, and see if this works....let us know if it does.

one other thing I think I had to do to get a dial tone on my house phone line was to unplug it for 10 seconds and then plug it back in..it is a uniden 900mhz cordless phone, dont know why I had to do this but it worked and I had dial tone after doing this when I first connect Vonage service up about a week ago

another last resort may be to call Vonage and just give them the MAC address of the new router, instead of cloning it
