When I was out of town this week I tried calling my Vonage number from my Verizon cell. I kept getting error 019P. It did not divert to my alternative number. The worst point was Friday (09/23) lunchtime - I tried again and again but I kept getting the same error. A Vonage tech mentioned that it might be my router taking up too much bandwidth. I don't think so as I had my fiancée call me from the Vonage number to test it. Outbound calls work fine. I called right back and got the same error (019P). You would think that at least it would switch to the alternative number but it doesn't. It's not like I have a slow internet connection either, Comcast download 6Mbps, upload 768kbps. On the way home in Baltimore I was still getting the same error. However, when I called from my cell using a GlobalCrossing calling card to my Vonage number (i.e. I called 1800.. then my pin then my Vonage number) it worked first time. I tried my cell direct to my Vonage number immediately after and again got the same 019P error. When I finally got back to where my cell is local (ie in Delaware) and tried calling it worked from my cell no problem. I used to have Cingular and this would do the same thing. There definitely seems to be a problem with Vonage when calling on a cell outside of one's local area. Do other people experience the same problems? Is there anyway to resolve this? |

Unfortunately I dont have good news for you. This was an ongoing problem for me for about a month. Cingular blamed Vonage, Vonge blamed Cingular.
Bottom line is I am canceling my service after hours and hours of support calls to both. Its unfortunate but I hope you have better luck than I did with this. |

Are you going to try another Voip blue2noise or go with a regular phone service again? |

I know this isn't much help to you, but just to let you know, I get several calls from both Cingular and Verizon customers, inside and outside of my area, and they all come through fine.
The problem is either isolated to certain areas, or to certain telephone numbers or exchanges.
Quick question: Are you using a recently ported number or did you get a new number from Vonage?
