Just because I am an IT professional does not mean I am a Voip professional, or even a Network Professional. I know samsung business phone systems, Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows 2000 Server, Windows 2003 Server, Linux and even some unix. I am my company's IT manager even. But all of that knowledge does not mean I know Voip.

Voip has nothing to do with this. it's 100% based on your isp, unless you have some weird network thing going on, which is unlikely.
so the answer basically is no, unless you can find something wrong with your isp's connection and/or your connection to the isp, and then get them to fix it. but there probably isn't one.

Thank you for the answer. I was just wondering if it could possably be anything on myside, I didn't think it was but I just wanted to make sure. I don't know much about ISPs other than they don't ever seem to want to help when its not their product, and even when it is their product they don't often seem helpful.

You could hack into your ISP's customer databases and raise your speeds without raising your billing rate Lol

Suggestions in priority order:

You can ensure that your cable modem is on the first split on your premises and that all of your splitters, cable and splices are good quality.

You can make sure you have the best cable modem available that is compatible with your service.

You can ensure that your inside network is set up to provide QoS priority to your adapter.

You can ensure that your computer is free from virii and spyware that may create additional unnecessary network traffic.

You can ensure that you have a hardware firewall blocking port scans and other nastiness from reaching your internal network.

You can ensure that your wireless access point is secured to prevent unauthorized use of your network.

I'll try the ones I can when I get home, Thanks.

My Cable modem is after a splitter which then goes through a wall (Connectors are on the out side of the wall) in to the modem. Unfortionaly I live in an apartment so I only have 1 cable drop. Will make sure Cables are good.

Just bought the newest Motorola Surfboard Modem 5120 about 1 month ago because my old Toshiba PCX2200 was dieing.

QoS setup to Express for MAC of RTP300, rest of network normal.

Computer off most of the time, but is free of virii from what norton says. Run weekly scans of spybot and ad-aware, along with having the microsoft anti-spyware installed.

I will have to check in to weither of not my firewall is blocking everything. Before I upgraded to DD-WRT it was....

Wireless currently disabled do to laptop being kaput..... (Poor screen..). Normally WAP is enabled, with the SSID not broadcast.
