Nothing seems to clearly answer this for me, except by inference, which is probably marketing... but - do I need a phone adapter for each phone in the house? (ok, maybe one for every 2 phones, since you can plug 2 phones into an adapter)? Or, could I go to the entry point of my phone line (coming into the house) and tie it in there and have one adapter service the entire house?
Thanks. |

The 2nd plug on the adaptor is for a second line not a 2nd phone on the first line.
Here is info on running Vonage over your homes phone wiring

You can wire your telephone adapter up to your home wires if you disconnect that from the local teleco. Thats the way my house is setup and I have 4 telephones hooked up to the house wire. |

I followed the directions and disconnected all incoming phone wires from the box outside and my line is totally dead. The problem I'm having is when I plug the line into the Vonage adapter and then into a phone jack to try to get all of my house phones working, I get a dial tone on all phones but it acts like the phone is off the hook. First I get a dial tone, then a slow busy signal, then a fast busy signal and then the line goes dead. If I unplug the line from the jack and then plug it back in I can repeat the sequence, but the line always goes dead within a minute. Has anyone else experienced this problem? |

Sartan,
have you tried dialing a number before it starts the sequence of fast busy then no dial tone?
My phone does that if you do not dial a number soon after picking up the phone. I have had similar experiences with all my POTS lines. |
