Hi,

This problem started after last night. When the person on the other side of the line hangs up I get a busy signal. This is starting to get on my nerves. I called Vonage and spent about 2 hours on the phone trying to fix the problem but it didn't get fixed in the end, and he tried everything he could think of. I don't know if this has to do with the firmware update, but we tried everything including using an older firmware and it wouldn't fix it. It was working great until now. The device I am using is the rt300, I am on a ds3 provided by the university, but have tried this on a dsl and it does the same thing. If you guys have any ideas please let me know because I am at a loss

I am having the same problem since the update of the firmware last night. I am using a WRTP54G.

I suspect we just need for their tech support (beyond level 1) to figure it out.

It is pretty annoying though.

Actually, you can probably blame me for this one... I wanted proper call progress tones, as my telephone equipment relies upon it. The 3-beep error tone the RTP300's used to give out wouldn't trigger most PBX equipment and higher-end phones to disconnect. The problem is that Vonage/Texas Instruments has the tones misplaced. You should get a fast busy at the end of a call rather than busy signal. Not sure how difficult it's going to be to get the tones in the right places, but we'll see. Been working on this issue for awhile now.

The tech said he escalated it to level 3 tech. Are they going to be able to fix this soon? I don't mean to be the pain in the butt customer. And I also don't know why, but that busy signal really does get on my nerves.

Changing the tones themselves is easy. Controlling when they're played is a bit different and I'm not sure how that'd be accomplished, might require new firmware from Texas Instruments to make it happen.

I have the RTP300 and with the 1.00.47 update, got the same fast busy sounds whenever someone hung up.

Hey there,

The tech I was talking to today found the problem and fixed it. The setting they need to change is called Remote Disconnect Tone.
