Nope, Remote Disconnect Tone is a field, not a switch, much like the RT31P2. You could even have it play a basic melody instead if you so desired.

OK, I just started noticing this problem too <sigh>. Worse yet, my wife noticed it. So what do I tell the CS techs? Set remote disconnect tone to the settings above? What exactly are we doing?

There might be an additional field to code the tone but on the RTP300 Remote Disconnect Tone is an on/off switch.

I am having the problem, too. CS was very helpful but haven't been able to resolve it. The problem is that is messes up my answerphone, whiich is connected to line two, so it's more than an annoyance. The answerphone doesn't properly detect the disconnect, so it records the busy signal tone for minutes! Not good.

Specifically, if the person leaves a message, it records a few seconds of the busy tone, but if a person hears the outgoing message and hangs before leaving a message, it records a fast busy signal for minutes (I think this type of tone is called a "reorder").

It's odd that it doesn't happen to the answerphone connected to line one, a different answerphone. Yet, the busy after hangup also happens on line one.

I spent nearly an hour on the phone with CS last night trying to cure this problem. The tech tried a lot of things, including switching to phone 2, but aside from breaking caller ID a couple of times, got no results.

He pushed replacement firmware to me and also got no results, but I'm beginning to wonder about that. He said that we went back to 47, but my router says it still has 50. We left it with him writing up a trouble ticked and putting it into his system for the next level up.

Steve, your router upgraded itself to 1.00.50 automatically. Call Vonage back and have them change your provision settings as follows to stop if from upgrading:

polling interval: 0
Image download retry interval:0

If your router says 1.00.50 then it is 1.00.50.

Just remember to call back in the future and have them set the settings back so that you can get future firmware releases.

Thanks, but if that's what happened I'd as soon leave it that way. The tech and I checked out the "busy after disconnect" problem right after he pushed 47 to me, and it didn't help. I know others have reported that it's 50 that caused the problem, but it doesn't seem to be the case with my system.

I hope Vonage gets to the bottom of this problem. I also wish they'd have their people reading this forum and coordinating. I've had short (and no) ring, no caller ID, and busy after remote disconnect. The people here have heard all about it, but it seems to come as a surprise to the Vonage techs.

Sunday morning, and the problem is gone! No more busy signals after disconnect. I guess the techs at Vonage fixed it. Same firmware on router (050) so whatever it was wasn't a formal firmware upgrade apparently.

Sunday morning and I've still got the problem, and no promised Email from the technician.

As for my firmware, I see now that when I go to the router's "home page", it says that I have version 50 is the upper right corner. After I log in, it changes to 47.
