Post subject: Got disconnected after Verizon confimed LNP Completed
I am posting this to warn anyone that is thinking about LNP to Vonage...To said the least,
Vonage
does not care about customer service since they have your credit card on file....
After waiting for LNP since May 2005. My number finally got ported from Verizon to
Vonage
on Aug 31 2005... and I thought I can finally start using my old number for the last 10 yrs via Vonage... NO... It's only the start.....
On Sept. 3 2005.. I receive another email from
Vonage
that LNP was incomplete and they are investigating my LNP transfer with my carrier... since then, I have call numerous time to
Vonage
to check on the status.. not to said the wait is at least 30 mins each time to talk to a live person... I have also been emailing them but with no reply from their end....
Now.. the old number has been disconnected and I have no idea who is my at fault here..
I believe Verizon had done their part since they gave me the release ticket number from their side to prove that
Vonage
has the number... But
Vonage
is alway saying they have to escalate with their Tier 2 support and would give me a call back to let me know the status.. but. they have never done that...
Any suggestion?

I'm having the same problem. Verizon released my number October 1 but said that Vonage's third-party carrier never scheduled a date to take over. So now I'm in limbo with practically no incoming phone service since my temporary virtual number is long distance (none were available in my area code).
I've talked to 7 different support reps and received 2 ticket numbers, but nothing has happened. Who can I contact to escalate this and hopefully get phone service?
Thanks,
Diana

Just want to give an update...
Vonage
has finally transfer my number and everything looks good so far...
I would like to share with the ppl who have the same problem on LNP process.
1. Get the "release number or ticket number" of LNP transfer from your old carrier
2. I found out that 1-866-496-6359 is a direct number to
Vonage
LNP dept. this will cut down wait time at least 10 to 15 mins.
3. Get the
Vonage
reps name. When you call back, you can ask the new rep to Instant mesg. the person you were working with. this will at least speed up w/o explain your problem again...
Good luck to all...
