Here is my speedtest on the vonage.com website

Download: 2.5Mbps
Upload: 14kbps
Qos: 97%
Round Trip Time: 19542 ms
Max Pause: 32ms

I have Bell highspeed and I'm in the Kitchener region. It ****, most of the time, the person on the other end can't hear me, but I can hear them fine (hence the low upload speeds). I go to OTHER upload tests, and the results are fine, my upload speeds are around 800kbps, it's just with VONAGE's speed test it comes up short.

It's driving me crazy, I don't know what else to do.

I have the PAP2, and it goes Bell -> Router -> PAP2. I have the firewall and everything turned off.

Does anyone have Bell in Kitchener/Waterloo and have Vonage working right ? (normal upload speeds?)

Does anyone have Cable modem and have Vonage working ??

Vonage says its Bell, Bell says its Vonage...

I have Rogers Cable in Brampton and so far it's all working great with Vonage. Your problem is scary, though...

Have you gone to the Vonage.com website and tried their speedtest? What do you get?

I'm in the Kitchener area with Bell high speed. I was having similar problems until I switched from the 5360 modem to the 6320 modem. I don't use the wireless because it doesn't work right but the modem is far better.

I have the following:

modem --> RT31P2 --> WRT54G --> computer(s)

The QoS on the RT31P2 is a big help (once I had it set right).

I'm not sure if that helps but that's my experience.

I have the PAP2, so I dunno if that is the problem.

Have you done the speed test on Vonage Site with Bell ?
The modem I have is the speedstream 4200, Bell said that was the newest modem...

Hispeed Voip requires 64 Kbps or the G.729 codec (for Basic/Lite DSL or Cable users) requires 8 Kbps so if your upload speed is 14 Kbps neither will work correctly. Make sure nothing is running on the PC and try unpluging the Voip unit while you run the tests

I have noticed Vonage speed test has always been slower (but not that bad). Try http://myspeed.visualware.com/voip/index.html and if Vonage results stay that poor while other upload tests are fine then there is something wrong with Vonage.

Vonage said my results are
Download 2.23 Mbps
Upload 540 Kbps
QOS 93%
RTT 55 ms
MaxPause 141 ms

But in my signature you can see visualware gives a better picture.

Those results actually look good. That is weird how Vonage gives me different results (very low upload results)

RTT 19545ms
Max Pause 79ms

Very strang results..
I guess its on my end, is the PAP2 even good? I wonder if they will switch up for the all-in-one wireless router ?

I get 4Mbps down/900Kbps up, 79% QOS.

And on www.testmyvoip.com, I get a score of 3.8

I wonder if I should get a new wireless router ? LIke a linksys...

It's weird how the Vonage.com site shows me being crappy, but that Voip site shows my connection fine. ???
