I had Vonage working on my router. I enabled port forwarding and now do not have a port for Vonage phone number and fax number. Would you please supply that port number so my phone and fax work again.
Thanks, Kehf |

Did you forward all your ports? Just forward the one's you need forwarded.

For the voice portion, forward 5060 and 5061. I believe TCP is the only requirement, but I set mine to forward both TCP and UDP. I am not sure if the fax line uses the same ports or not.
Good luck and please post the results of the change.

Hey Reebok, can you shed some light on this topic for me please? My device is connected to the internet through another router (ISP --> Modem-->router--> Vonage device). The device was detecting the internet, but unable to give me a dial tone until I set up port forwarding for 5060, 5061 as per the tech's direction. Since then, I ahve been able to make and receive phone calls. I have not forwarded any of the other ports mentioned in the thread you linked to.
I don't get it. Why isn't it necessary to forward the 10000-20000 range for it to work?

what router are you using? port forwarding is rarely required at all, so I'm not sure why you would need to forward some and not others, unless it's some weird router issue. |

DLINK 624 rev C
To forward, I have to enter a single port at a time and can only forward a limited number (10 or so?). To forward a range, you have to enter a trigger port. No one seems to know what that would be, and since the calls seem to be working, I didn't bother.
Anyhow, the reason I ask is that I am still having a couple problems including that the Vonage line rings every night at midnight Vonage time. See here: Other thread
I can't help but wonder if that problem might be a result of the device trying to update or otherwise detecting an error and rebooting.
