I need help with what have become impossibly choppy, and occasionally dropped, calls over the past few days. Have used the service without too much trouble for eight months.

1. Plattsburgh, NY
2. Charter Cable
3. 2.69 mbps download speed, 249 kbps upload
4. Motorola SB5100
5. RT31P2
6. Cable to Modem to RT31P2 to computer/Netgear wireless router

Ouch...those numbers hurt my eyes just looking at them. I would get Charter on the phone pretty fast.

I called Vonage to complain yesterday. My wife wants the old wired service back.

An announcement on their service number says that their engineers are addressing the choppiness problem that they are currently experiencing.
Vonage needs to 'fess up in this forum and tell us what is going on or I'll be switching very soon.

The last 3 days, I've had HORRIBLE choppiness. The phone "ring" is so bad, and nobody at the other end can hear me.

Vonage service has dramaticall gone downhill.

Two major outages, horrendous hold times, awful service.

MOS of 1.2? I think I got better on dial-up... your cable connection's hosed. Give Charter a call. Since you're running a good cable modem, the problem will either be in the wiring or they seriously oversold the bandwidth they have available.

As far as call quality goes, I've used about ~200 minutes on Vonage over the past 2 days & haven't experienced any problems with choppiness/etc.
