Can't get it working. I am in an apartment with static IP address assigned. If I connect the unit behind my Netgear router, which is configured for the IP address (which is in the 172 range, not 192), I can get Internet through the Linksys, but I can't access the setup page at 192.168.15.1.

And there is no dial tone. The Internet, ethernet, and power lights do a very fast flicker, and every now and then both phone line lights flash on simultaneously.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

did you wait for 20 minutes after connecting it? This is neccessary, as it needs to configure itself, and 'find' the service.

I don't know if the static IP addy is an issue, maybe soeone else can answer that.

If you can provide more info you'll probably get more responses to this post, as the group will have a better understanding of what's up with your situation.

Good luck.

You might need to give Vonage a call on this. Some of the RTP300s weren't provisioned properly and they have to manually provision them.

The first thing I would try is to temporarily eliminate the router and try to connect the RTP directly to the service. You need to establish whether the RTP can connect and provide service. Then you can work other issues.

I've eliminated the router, and am now connected right to the wall of the apartment...it's a T-1 to the complex. Still nothing happening, still can't get to the setup screen at 192.168.15.1. Also, the two phone line lights periodically flash together...that strikes me as not "right".

I'm not sure it was initially hooked up for 5 minutes (or even 20) before we lifted the receiver. Is it possible we interrupted a firmware download (or something else like that), and if so, can we "recover"?

Thanks.

Spoke with customer service, and they were unhappy with my IP address, which is assigned at 172.xx.xx.xx. Said I had to call my Internet provider (static address, on a T-1 in an apartment complex) and ask that they connect me in Bridge Mode. Not sure what this means.

And still can't get to the setup screen at 192.168.15.1. I don't know anything about all this, but would the static address assigned by my provider at 172... interfere with accessing the setup screen? I haven't had this problem with other IP devices (CallVantage router, Netgear router).

Thanks.
