Post subject: Porting question
Ok so this is going to be an odd one.... my Girlfriends Parents are moving out of the area and she wants to take over their phone number since they've had it for 25+ years. We don't really want to pull a land line into where we're renting and the number is currently "owned" by Qwest.
Now here's the question do people think we should try to transfer the number into one of our names at Qwest and then port to
Vonage
or should we port to
Vonage
in her parents name and then change the name on the
Vonage
account?
thanks.

I would say port first... it seems that any bit of confusion can cause a number port to not go through, and I'm sure changing account information prior to porting only complicates things. Get the number to
Vonage
first.

you must make sure the name on both accounts match, trust me I know, change the name on the
Vonage
account, because your old phone company will swear the change hasnt gone into effect yet and will reject your transfer, change name on
Vonage
account then proceed
