Yes, seeker_ktf (me: I'm ltf). I believe that all Vonage has to do is to populate their database with the information. From there all Vonage-to-Vonage calls should show name and Vonage-to-PSTN calls will retrieve the information from SS7 messages via the border gateway. Of course they will not have a bunch of clerks manually doing this work. They will have their order entry and CRM system automatically populate this database. Not knowing the vendors of these systems or whether they are homegrown, I have no idea of how much effort it would take. Obviously it is not a trivial task or it would have been done. This is the highest priority "bug" I have on my list for them. The next one would be to always see the name of the voice mail sender in the subject line of the e-mail. |

The lack of CLID on the other phone was something I was unaware of until after the deal was done. These calls go through a Vonage server somewhere don't they? Doesn't seem like it would be that hard to put the name on the account along with the number. |

This poll is nice and all, but how does one bust through Vonage's tiered support system to get someone to pay this issue some real attention? I had "Vonage Holding" showing up as my caller ID since November, and just within the last week (and after many email messages) got it changed to "Unknown" (which is really a pretty sad improvement on the situation).
Is there a Vonage engineer in the house? |

When I call other parties, my number doesn't even show up as "unknown" or "unavailable" it shows up as "." that's it, just a dot/period. Any ideas about that? |
