Hmm... well, it's Sunday afternoon... and my router's still sitting at 1.00.45.. Has anyone had .47 automatically pushed out to them as a normal update from Vonage yet? I thought Saturday was going to be the day (like they normally do it).

No auto push from Vonage yet. Still at .45.

I was testing with a few different configs on my RTP300 and wireless and had to do several reboots and even hard resets... still at .45.

Ok, I finally decided to block httpconfig.vonage.net temporarily, since the wait time on crap-support is 15 minutes!

I went to the RTP300 admin page, but I do not see an option anywhere to block sites? What am I missing?

I don't believe that it can be done directly on the RTP300. I have my RTP300 sitting behind another router and blocked it there.

Man... thats bad.. Cant imagine router not having this functionality.. I have another router, but it does not have QoS so I use RTP300 as my primary router.

Well, if Vonage isn't ready to send out the update yet, I guess they've hit problems with it... so, I guess I'll hold off on it, since I value reliability over everything else.

Monday will be one week since I got the 47 firmware and everything has been extremely stable. Vonage may be making a mistake by holding it back. I was ready to leave Vonage since the reverse echo issue was so bad and they may wind up losing customers if they don't get this out soon.

I am already contemplating switching to Voicewing, and I think I am going to signup tommorow night (I am going to give Vonage a chance to roll out version 47 and see if it works better) and file my number portability. I do not want to stay with a service where it takes 15-20 minutes to talk to a Customer service agent; and that choppy voice and echo.

I had no problems talking to them yesterday. I complained about the echo and I told him if he can push the .47 firmware. Right away after 5 minutes my firmware was updated. I've tested it with a call to Canada and bingo no more echo. Why don't you try calling again the Vonage tech. I found them all helpful so far.

This logic always makes me laugh... just because it works for you doesn't mean there aren't problems with it that make it too risky for a widespread deployment.

The logistics of doing a massive firmware update should never be underestimated. With each update comes the risks from whatever problems exist with the firmware, and the risk itself of ruining an ATA because of a bad update. Losing customers is a risk if they don't solve the echo problem, but they stand to lose a lot more customers if they accidentally blow away 5% of their customer base with a bad flash.
