To the best of my knowledge, 1.00.47 should be pushed out this Saturday... I haven't been promised this, but it seems very likely.

As far as phones I've used with the RTP300

Corded (line-powered) phones:
Panasonic (various)
NEC (various)
a few El-cheapo no-names

Scitec (hotel)

Corded (w/power adapter) phones:

Panasonic

Cordless:
Uniden TRU8xxx series

Data/Dax:
Lucent 56k v.90 Winmodem

HP Fax (unknown model)

And so far, no problems with any of the above phones & echos. As I travel around more, I'll keep trying different phones and see what happens.


*** UPDATE:
Oops! I forgot to add the big stuff:

Broadcast hybrids/broadcast codecs/teleconferencers used:
Polycom Soundstation EX
Telos One
Telos Delta
Gentner TS612
ClearOne GT1524
Comrex Vector

I should note that the GT1524 & Soundstation EX are both used as "speakerphones"... no echo. Probably doesn't hurt that the GT1524 goes for ~$2500 and that doesn't include speakers or microphones.

I had the reverse echo really bad with version .45 firmware and yes I am using a Panasonic cordless phone. The .47 firmware fixed / worked around the problem. The echo is gone.

Another update... My wife just called me from her cell phone. She heard an echo when I was using my speakerphone, but not my handset.

In my experience, echo from speakerphones is common, even with POTS. The voice comes out the speaker and is picked up and retransmitted by the microphone. In fact, I had that very problem at work yesterday during a conference call (no Voip involved). I don't think that is a Vonage issue.

I just got off the phone with a client in the middle of no-where California and was using the Uniden handset as a speakerphone. Asked him after our call how it sounded, and he was surprised it was Vonage, etc....

I haven't had that complaint when using it with POTS though. It is a dreaded Panasonic phone, so maybe this stuff is along the lines of what a Vonage tech was talking about when they said TI held the fix because they wanted to "do it better".

Whenever I try to upload 1.00.47 myself on my wrtp54g from the image I downloaded from the link someone posted on these forums i always get an error after it takes about a quarter of it that says "invalid code pattern".

How were you guys able to push it to your router yourself?

In my case, I didn't. Vonage pushed it for me. If it isn't pushed this weekend, call Vonage and tell them you are having the reverse echo problem. They should agree to push it. They have done it for several people on the forum.

I hope they DO push it this weekend though. I really can't recommend Vonage to others until this problem is officially fixed.
