Is any one having problems with the Vonage speed test? It shows my upload at 758 kbps and my download at 1.2 mbps. If I check it on other sites I get 758 up and 8000 down.

I have found that it is not the most reliable...try a few others and that should give you an average speed...

Likewise, the Speed Test isn't close to reality and it gives me a Qos that says no one should be hearing a word that I say. For some, it works like a charm. I suspect that it is a bit incompatible with some cable company servers. I have had similar problems with other bandwidth measurement services. Find one that gives you the highest bandwidth and stick with it.

I have seen the Speed Test that is used at this forum at other websites. There is nothing wrong with the one we have. It just doesn't like me. Lol Rolling Eyes

My Results
Download 783,600 bps
Upload 375,416 bps
QOS 79%
RTT 75 ms
MaxPause 141 ms

As you can see. I seem to be about 5Mbps short on download, my Java version is upgraded to V.1.5, and the Qos seems a bit higher than it's usual 17% today. Please note that I'm not complaining.

Known Fact:

Comcast (and mainly those of you with their HSI service) and our speed test do not like each other.

This was never a problem until Comcast came out with the HSI service this past winter.

I say, that should tell you something about Comcast.

Well I did just upgrade to the 8 mbps and that’s when the problem started it work fine at 4 mbps. I will say I do get accurate results for other speed test so I am not sure it’s a Comcast problem.

My speed is much faster than the Comcast HSI service at both my home and at the office and my results are dead on, likewise, people use the new Verizon fiber (blazing fast) have accurate results.

The only people (most only) seem to be the Comcast HSI, I am not sure if it is a Comcast issue or a Vonage Forum issue, but it is a fact.

For me (Adelphia) it can just be quirky. I just tried it and my DL started around 1.5 mbps and settled around 3.7 mbps..Upload was right on...

I just logged on to my Vonage account and check my speed 8.14 mbps down 747 kbps up. Looks like the same speed test program.
