Post subject: some lill info for a newbie
hi! im newbie and i have a
vonage
service for almost a year an a half.. and no complains at all!
I own a linksys wrtg54 v1.1 and motorola VT1000v
I was wondering 2 things...
Can I get a wireless phone adapter?
not a wireless phone... I need the wireless phone terminal so i can plug it to a phone commuter and dont run a utp-5 cable from the router to the commuter.
then I own an AT&T 2462 (2 line expandable phone) and the caller id doest work for my landline and for the
vonage
... something i can do?
Thanks!

as far as I know, at this time there are no wireless phone adapters. There are phone adapters with wireless internet/network capability but not a wireless phone.
You say that you want to connect it to a phone commuter. What is a phone commuter? I have never heard of this before. Would it be possible to move the phone commuter close to the adapter and connect it without running a long cable? Just a thought.
If you are using one of these, are you not connecting your
vonage
directly into your home wiring? That might solve some of the issues.
By the way, if you explain your setup with specific details, it might help.

I just looked through the manual and there is no place for any settings for caller id. The troubleshooting section also only mentions the fact that your battery needs to be charged in order for it to work but if you can use your phone to make and receive calls, then the battery is not the problem. So I really cannot help you here. I presume that you have caller id with your local telco as well is that correct?
I hope some of this helps.
