Post subject: my ip keeps changing...
I just installed a new linksys wrt54g with the alchemy firmware so that I can control bittorrent upload speed.. So far I notice when I do ipconfig my ip keeps changing, and the bittorrent does not like that.. I need to open ports for the torrent to run...
static ip or automatic configuration dhcp I notice is one setting I don't know what to do with ???
I do need to talk to my isp... Charter, but they have a long wait this morning so I though i would try later and find out here if it's something on my end... by the way I don't need the wireless capability of my router, it's all wired.

your wan ip? I would think you meant lan ip but since charter has 0 to do with that I'm not sure why you mentioned them.
I know in talisman you can set static lan ip's by mac address (nice feature) but I dunno about the free one. try looking into that.
