PostPosted: Fri Sep 09, 2005 6:33 pm    Post subject: Voice mail in French? Reply with quote Back to top

Hi all,

Being a French native, and having most of my friends and family being French speakers, and some of them not understanding English at all, I have the following problem with my voice mail box.

I changed my personal message, it is in French, no problem (actually, I would need to redo it in both languages Wink )
But when someone calls me and is redirected to the voice mail box, al the instructions (like "to listen your message press 1, to redo your message press2, to send press 3") are in English only!

I just don't think I will have a lot of messages from my family, without sending them a user guide !!! Eek

Is there any possibility to change the language of the voice mail box, or to have some kind of language selection at the begining of the process?

Thanks a lot

Pat

Hi,
I am in the same situation - my message in French but the options in English before the beep. My callers sometimes give up ! Sad

I talked to a Vonage representative today, mentionned this situation and they sent me an email saying

Let's see how this turns out with them !

Cheers

Thanks a lot for this info.
I sent a message to Vonage support about that, and still waiting for an answer.
Good to now also that 1-800 numbers will work correctly end of october.
And I will have to change my personal message to tell people to press the correct keys to confirm their message, until end of year!

Cheers,

Pat
