rtp300 setup

i cant connect to the internet with rtp300 but without it internet connection is exellent. i tried everything on the routers manual on the quick installation with modem only but doesnt work. when i entered the rtp300 routers default IP adress the page cannot be displayed.. i wonder why? i followed all the steps on the manual

What is the status of the LEDs on the front of your phone adapter? Turn everything off. Reboot your modem and then try doing a hard reset to your phone adpater (power off, push the reset button in back, hold, apply power while holding for 15-30 sec, release).

Assuming you are using Windows and also assuming that your rtp300 is between your cable modem and your pc..go to "start", click on "run", and type the command" " cmd" then enter. Once you have your command prompt, type "ipconfig" and see what it says for "default gateway" the ip there should match the default address given to you by Linksys..if it differs, then type the ip address you see in to your internet browser and see where that gets you.Powering down everything might be the best option. But make sure you do it the correct sequence. Power up the cable modem first and wait for all your lights to come up, then power on your rtp300 and wait for all your lights, then finally turn on your pc and see if you can surf..Any way that's my 2 cents.Louis
