PostPosted: Thu Sep 08, 2005 12:27 am    Post subject: RTP300 Stand? Reply with quote Back to top

Just signed up and got my RTP300 today. It came with firmware v1.00.43. After plugging it in, it upgraded to v1.00.45 after a few minutes. Voice quality sounds good. No echos ect...

Anyways, to get to my question. The manual says there is an optional stand to sit the RTP300 on it's side. Is this something that should have came with it? or something extra you have to buy?

Thx!

I believe you can get one for free from Linksys.

Very good question! I take it Vonage does not ship the RTP300 standard with a stand???

I'm on hold waiting for CS to pick up, trying to exchange my RT31P2 with a RTP300. Will ask (if I ever get through!)

Nope....I wish they did.

UPDATE-I called Vonage. It went like this...
Me-I would like to get a stand for the RTP300
CS-They don't make them.
Me-Yes they do, I am looking at a picture of one in the manual.
CS-We don't have them.
Me-Ok, since it is the same box as the wireless router, can you send me a stand for one of those?
CS-We don't have them.
Me-You don't?
CS-Well, the PAP2 is a smaller box, but it may work.
Me-Sigh, if it is smaller how will it fit.
CS-I am not sure, we don't have a PAP2 on display here.
Me-Ok, can you just send me a PAP2 stand and I will try it out?
CS-We don't have any in the warehouse...Bestbuy or Circuit City carries them.
Me-Thanks but no thanks.

Phew! Just got off the phone with CS after 1 1/4 hr (only got dropped once this time!)

RTP300 does not ship with stand. Vonage does not have them either. They can't recommend how/where to get one... Check with your local computer stores, sir!

The good news is that they're overnighting to me a RTP300 to replace my RT31P2 (based on info from several here that RTP300 is much better, including you Trowski!) I hope mine gets here on Fri., so I don't have to wait until Mon. Smile

Once I have the RTP300 I will post my experience and differences between it and the RT31P2. Fingers are crossed... the beat goes on Boo hoo!

Vonager, you have a 50-50 shot of it actually shipping today. My guess would be Monday, as they have to process the order and the cut off for shipping is 3:00 pm...But I hope you do! You will love this little guy. I would press to make sure it gets out today.

The guy I spoke with (heavy Indian accent) was nice (that is once we got over the silly but necessary questions about my ISP, UL/DL, my favorite movie, etc.)

I requested overnight and he did not make promises but did request overnight and said it's a different dept. DHL does not update their data frequently so I'm hoping it gets here before it's reflected on the DHL website that they handed it over to USPS. At any rate, my RT31P2 is working (just minor annoyances) so Mon. is just fine.

If someone finds out how to get the RTP stand, it'd be great (my cable modem and my wireless router are both vertical on stands so it'd be nice to also have the RTP on one and save some desk space... plus it's a nicer landscape a la downtown towers)

Yep, vertical looks much better. Hopefully the RTP300 has been designed with good airflow/cooling standing vertically.

Overnight is what it now shows; cool beans! No tracking info yet on DHL's website. (will see later tonight if the shipment indeed made the cut)
