Post subject: Will my Company PDA sync using Vonage?
I was issued a PDA at work and have to sync twice a day with a dial-up modem that attaches to the PDA ( Yes it can dial out with tones) . Here is the link to that modem...

Other than cancelling call waiting is there any thing else I should program (like *99,)?
Thanks for any help out there...Seattlezoid

Modem connectivity isn't supported right now. They are working to improve reliability on things like fax and TiVo but I haven't heard of anything regarding modems yet, other than they are not supported, not even for faxing purposes.
It's possible that it may sometimes establish a connection at a slower speed and be able to sync, but I wouldn't count on it being reliable.

Post subject: Modems on Vonage
You can get most modems to work with
Vonage
but you have to play around a lot. I'm not sure of the option on a palm but many years ago when I first got
Vonage
I used a Phillips Nino with a modem and it worked great if I made the speed the lowest speed available (1200 baud) it took forever to download but as
Vonage
is or can be unlimited for very little money you can set it and forget it at night or whenever. On a PC you can also monkey around with enabling and disabling different flow control values. It seems to work best with everything disabled. I don't know if the palm has those options but if it does write down the default and keep messing with it until it works.
