I'd be very interested in some way to escalate this and not have to deal with all the hassle that blutarsky has already gone through. I am a technology consultant who's been working with networks and internet for as long as the stuff has existed and I've done everything to validate my connection is solid.

This is either related to the router or to the routing Voip traffic by Vonage as it appeared to be for blutarsky.

I have had Vonage for a couple of months, and I have received repeated complaints about this, but from only one number that I call. No one else has complained that they have to repeat "Hello".

I, too, have the RTP300 adapter.

I'm having this problem as well (RTP300, delay on connection), but only when my wife calls from the Vonage phone to my work number. Now, when my work phone rings and I see it is her, I pick up the phone and start counting, just to see how many seconds it takes for her to hear me. It's usually 2 or 3 seconds.

Anybody else still having the issue?

I am having the same problem here to! When making a call the other end has said hello several times before I hear them.

i've been really busy and it's been a while since i checked back here...

the good news is that this *can* be fixed. my line was having those problems and it took a long time, but i finally got through to the right people and they did some tweaking with the route my calls take internal to Vonage and it fixed it. only problem is i don't know *exactly* what they did so i don't know how to help you convey it to the phone techs who will almost certainly not believe it's on their end and will instead continue to troubleshoot it as a "your end problem".

i've sent an email to the guy who helped me and pointed him to your posts here in the hope that he'll be able to make contact and do for you what he did for me, assuming of course that it's the same problem.

I am also experiencing this problem.

There is one number that my wife calls frequently (her parents), and she is always complaining about the delay. Her parents have to say "Hello" several times before she can hear them.

My wife is not too happy with the quality of Vonage and keeps asking me to switch back to our old phone service.

Hi,

I just wanted to report that I am also having this problem.


Interestingly enough though, I have a WRTP54G router. Probably uses most of the same hardware, just has wireless.


It's a really annoying problem. If that tech guy that you guys were talking about still reads this, I'd like some help without having to deal with too much of phone calls to support. Though, if I do not receive a reply I will have to give them a call I guess.
