I just called
Vonage
(waited on hold for 20 mins), but they gladly pushed the 1.00.47 to me.
I haven't tried it yet but will later. Hopefully I'll be able to set my bandwitdh saver to "high quality" when this is all over.
edit to add: the reason I'm waiting to try it is that I have nobody to call at the moment (everyone's at work or school or whatever). This isn't exactly an emergency, plus I don't like dragging other ppl into my tech issues.

if anyone wants to try to upgrade it themselves, this looks like the file. check the beginning of this thread for possible username and passwords if it's required.

I just now placed a call (to Charter tech support for a signal issue that I'm trying to resolve). Anyway, in the past I've found that calling a call center situation usually caused delays & choppy sound. This time, the quality was perfect; unfortunately the tech guy didn't always talk clearly.
I'm going to now change that bandwidth saver setting since it takes an hour to update. I'll keep you posted.

I'm jumping in on this thread a bit late since I've only had the RTP300 since this past weekend (replaced my RT31P2) and don't feel like reading 8 pages, so apologies if I'm asking something already brought up...
I just noticed after reading Erika's post that my bandwidth saver (bs) is set to lowest (30k). I've always had it on highest (90k) with my RT31P2. Does the RTP300 reset the bs to lowest (30k) by default and is that the workaround prior to 1.00.47? I haven't noticed the reverse echo problem (yet?); I have 1.0045 firmware.

Mine always stayed at 90k...Just checked after the 47 update and it still at 90.

FWIW, you can force the bandwidth saver (at least for outgoing calls) to be near instantaneous if you make the change on Vonage's website, wait about 30 seconds, then power cycle your RTP300. It's worked every time for me so far.

I believe that I found 1.00.47, but don't have the intestinal fortitude to attempt to flash it.
I can verify that it is legit. Of course, it gets downgraded back to 1.00.45 within minutes though.
I'll block that for a little while and see how my calls work out with 1.00.47 tomorrow.

How do you block the firmware download from happening?

It has not gone out to the masses, so there is no need to block anything. Right now it has to be requested.
