OK, if you have an alternate firmware for the RTP300 let me have it. I'm a risk taker. I hadn't heard of this for the RTP300 yet.

So, if I'm to understand, if I have the echo problem, I should go to BBR.com, drink some wine, and then maybe the echo won't be so bothersome?
LOL Love the plan!
I have the echo as well, but only on the opposite side, and it doesn't seem to affect all my callers. I never get the echo on my side at all. Thanks for the heads up on the firmware!

Yes, just to clarify, this is a "reverse" echo issue. People that call my
Vonage
# or people I call from my
Vonage
# can hear their own voice echoing in short staccato like bursts.
Ordering the wine....

That's exactly what is happening on my line. I just figure they should be listening instead of talking anyway!
Just kidding. I really do appreciate the info on the firmware.
Meanwhile, I do have a full winerack...

OK. I just got some new information from my
Vonage
contact. The bad news is that 1.00.45 doesn't fix the reverse echo problem. The good news is that Texas Instuments DOES have a fix and are delaying the release for another week. Here is what

Once again, I sincerely apologize for the long wait, we understand how important your phone service and quality is to you. I can assure you that I’m lighting fires under whomever I have to so that we can get this update for the affected customers ASAP.

Ha! That is the exact same response I got! I just sent in a follow-up email asking if TI is going to address the upload QoS voice priority issue... Can't hurt to ask.

Well, I don't think this is a canned response. I did speak to the tech when he was running both the old and the patched firmware. I heard an echo with the old firmware but not with the patched version.

I never actually tested it with him on the phone but this was his response to me so I am guessing he figured he could just save some time and copy and paste.
Did he mention what the fixed going from 1.00.43 to 1.00.45?
I just got w/ the device guys at Texas Inst. The echo fix wasn’t released w/ this firmware. They said they pulled it out for one more week of QA testing and are releasing it this week. They said to me that they’d be able to get me a version of it that I can step a few customers through patching. The reason you heard echo on your end was because I was using the same device as you for testing and my firmware was updated over the weekend to the version that doesn’t include the echo patch. Once again, I sincerely apologize for the long wait, we understand how important your phone service and quality is to you. I can assure you that I’m lighting fires under whomever I have to so that we can get this update for the affected customers ASAP.

turbo53 & kpdillon, thanks for the updates.
I was bummed to see that the echo problem wasn't resolved after getting the latest firmware upgrade over the weekend. It's encouraging to hear that the echo fix wasn't included though, so maybe next week I can stop annoying my client who is hearing the echo of his own voice.

Yeah, hopefully their not just telling us this to buy more time. My first visit to the marriage counselor with my wife is going to be about firmware and how that will solve our problems since switching to
Vonage
.
Actually, my wife said that everyone she talks to is now pretty much use to the echo. LOL....
Would be nice if they also fixed the upload QoS issue at the sametime.
