Hello,
I've had Vonage for quite a while and have it setup to send calls to my cell phone if service is unavailable. I'm seeing a lot llately calls going to my cell phone even when the service is working fine. I've had Vonage ring at my home once, and then my cell phone starts going off... I'm not sure what the problem could be. Anyone know or experience this?
Linksys RT31P2 is the router I have...
Thanks, ~Matt |

Is the RT31P2 behind another router/firewall? If so, then that's most likely the problem. Although I don't know the details (perhaps someone could chime in on this one) the RT31P2 keeps port 10000 open to Vonage for a certain amount of time . After that time, the port is closed. Outgoing calls will reopen that port, and incoming calls will get though if the port is still open. Once the port closes, the firewall/router will drop the packets unless you set it for forward that port. |

Ihave had the exact same issue, except I am using a Linksys wrtp54g. Haven't found a solution yet though. I am waiting / hoping that the latest firmware has fixed the problem |
