Since changing to Vonage I have been unable to dial in using my laptop to a secure line. I use Secure ID and used to place the phone line into my laptop and dial in for connection. Now I only get a 'no connection' message. The secure ID uses a 0800 phone number but seems to be getting no answer. When I revert back to a normal phoneline I log on easily,
Any suggestions for cures?
Thanks |

Might be the way you are dialing the number. |

I'm having the exact same problems. I dial into a Remote Access Server using a secureID badge. Since going to Vonage I can no longer sign in
Did you ever get your problem resolved? |

No, not managed to sort, did log on a few times by lowering the speed of the laptop modem but then it takes an age to download anything |

I would have thought that is not supported...you need to use a standard PSTN line. |

I can now dial in to the RAS but only when the system is quiet. Typicaly 7 a.m. (ish). I lower the baud rate to 9600, and dial using *99. I get this working for approx. 30 minutes before all other users start dialing in. Not acceptable but at least I can get connected for the basics. Lowering the baud rate to 9600 is grim to say the least!
Vonage have replied to my e-mail over this subject stating that "At this time Vonage Uk does not support PC Modems" but they did recommend lowering the baud rate.
Hopefully there will be improvements as time goes on. |
