I'm a new user, but I like the RTP300 fine. Quality is good, and the router portion is working fine for me. I have had one problem. When I first signed up, my phone would not ring on incoming calls. I called Vonage technical support (took 30 minutes, rowg) and the technician increased the ringer voltage using a setup to which only they have access. That worked fine, but when I hooked two more phones and my fax machine in using Y's, the ringer stopped working again. It will handle the fax machine and two phones, but the ring is short and weak sounding. I've sent an Email asking if the voltage could be increased any more, but I've had no reply to that Email or two others on different subjects. |

It depends on your needs. When I wanted to go to use Vonage, I already had a linksys wireless g router for over a year... why should I buy another router to use vonage... It didn't make sense, so I just bought the pap 2 adapter. I plugged the pap 2 into the existing router and connected my phone and power and it worked great... Have no problems....
The pap 2 is a great solution for users who already have an existing router and don't need to duplicate hardware.
