So how did you supposedly get them to magically turn it on?

So RubyA, has your ACR supposedly been turned on?

Here is the answer from Vonage one year later regarding ACR...

Hello Brian,

Thank you for contacting Customer Care.

we understand that you would like to block the anonymous calls.

We regret to inform that this feature is not available with Vonage
as of now and understand how beneficial this service would be. Our
technicians our working on it. But at this time we do not have a time
frame when this feature would be available. Once we have this feature
we would be giving you an email notification

Pigs fly...Hell freezes over...blah, blah, blah.... We are just too busy spending the little IPO money that we got on new commercials. We don't care about the customers that we already have. Yeah, whatever.

Well FWIW I waited over a year for anonymous call rejection.
I searched the web and Verizon Voice Wing offers it. I ordered it today

Goodbye Vonage!

Its been a ......wait.

I know the Linksys PAP2's with unscrupulous owners (read unlocked) and other Sipura based adaptors has ACR as a user configurable setting available only through the web based configuration menu.

FWIW I believe Vonage could easily do what other (most?) Voip providers have done, placing the filtering process on their end, and picking off calls that subscribers don't want to ring through. Vonage apparently doesn't want to deal with running the supporting centralized infrastructure to do it, and would rather push it onto each subscribers adaptor. Something they obviously haven't been able to figure out yet, and their lack of response make me wonder if they are negotiating or waiting for firmware/hardware revisions from adaptor vendors that would include this feature and provide Vonage a method to control it.
