I live in Montreal, aera code 514. Many friends of mine live a few miles around Montreal. Their area code is 450. On land lines, calling from 514 to 450 is a local call. On Vonage, I can reach some numbers in the 450 area but not others. With some 450-xxx-xxxx, I always get that message: "Your international calling is currently blocked".
My international calling is not blocked and calling 450 from 514 is not an international call. Do you understand something? |

First thing to check is going to your web account at www.vonage.com and login, go to features then international calling is enabled, second make sure your billing is paid for. If you miss payment you go into grace status meaning you lose international calling and 411 calling. If those check out. It might most likely a local carrier issue and they deem those calls international calls. It goes the same for in the US the customer might have to dial a 1 before the number. I would call in to vonage to double check but i must be one of the above issues. |

In response to Bnr78:
1) my international calling is enabled
2) my billing is paid for
3) it's not an international call
4) I called vonage yesterday and they did not solved the problem yet.
Simply said the problem is: I can't call the guy next door, the one I called the day before yesterday. Today, Vonage voice says it is an international call !!!!! |

I guess that is just one of the many disadvantages of being a Canadian. |

I've seen that happen before. Very rarely though. Try dialing a "1" before the phone number. That seems to clear it up.
