All of a sudden I went from havng great calls to lousy calls. (but once in a while there are great). I just did the www.testyourvoip.com (see below) before I made a call.. It started out fair and ended with me not being able to have a conversation. I am pretty sure that Comcast if the problem, but their tests tell them, "no problem" . Sure would appreciate help
The details of my setup are
1 Atlanta . Your location
2. Comcast Your ISP name and type (cable, DSL, wireless etc)
3. Usually 3m/300k Upload and download speeds
4. Motorola SB5120 Modem make and model
5. RT31P2 Type of Vonage adapter used ie RT31P2 or PAP2
6. Cable -Modem - Vonage Setup of Network ie Modem---->Vonage Adapter-->PC

ouch that ****. chances are the tests they perform are from them to the cable modem which should be perfect. it's outside the network the problem is occuring somewhere. get www.pingplotter.com and run it for a while to try to find the source of your packet loss. |
