Linksys BEFW11S4 router
Uniden 5.8 GHz TRU-8860
RTP300 phone adapter
ISP: Comcast

Have my motorola cable modem plugged into my wireless router.

Have the RTP300 phone adapter plugged into the router and the phone into the phone adapter. (No computers are plugged into the RTP300)

I am having issues currently with the dialing of my phone.

If I plug the phone directly to the RTP300, I have no issues.

However, if I plug the RTP300 into my wall jack (to make all jacks in the house hot) and plug my phone into another jack, I can not dial the number 6 on the phone.

If I press 6, I still get a dial tone. All other number work fine.

I also have a old VTech 2467.

I plug that into the wall jack and have no issues whatsoever? I get a dial tone, dial 6 and no dial tone....

Is there something with the Uniden phones and Vonage. I thought it was the phone, so I returned it and go another one, same make and model, and get the same results.

THX

Have tried unplugging any other telephones or devices on the house wiring? It sounds like the house wiring or devices may be introducing some capacitance that is causing your DTMF to be slightly distorted. Did the Uniden phone work on the house wiring before you went over to Vonage?

I can plug in and use my old VTech 2467 and everything works fine....(with the VTech not Uniden)?

I just go the Uniden so I don't know if it worked prior to going to Vonage.

One other thought..... I am using a Panasonic Cordless system, and it has an option in programming to select "line mode" It has two options one is for normal central office voltage setting and the other for lower voltage PBX. The Panasonic ships with a default setting for the Central Office or higher voltage.
I wonder if the Uniden system doesn't have a similar arrangement. You might want to check into it and give it a try if it has a similar option. Try setting it for the lower voltage.

I have a Uniden 8866 and am not having this issue with a Linksys PAP2 or a Motorola VT1005.

One thing I did have happen a few times when plugged into the Motorola, is the phone rebooted from static electricity. It doesn't happen with the Linksys. I think the Motorola grounding might be different.

Anyway. I am supposed to be getting a RTP300 on Thursday. I'll try it with the Uniden and see if there are any issues.
