Whatever Vonage tries to do does not improve my service.

- sometimes outgoing calls don't work
-sometimes incoming calls don't come through
- voicemail sometimes works
- sometimes there are big delays between when a message is left and when I actually receive it
- frequently when deleting a voicemail after listening to it the signal doesn't seem to make it back to me to clear the VM lights on my phones

It goes on. They don't seem to know what to do. Not to mention 911 does not work for me as I've tested it.

Anyone have any ideas?

How is your ISP? Have you tried www.testyourvoip.com and looked at the detailed results with a call to Boston. I would start there.

But for me, everything is a-ok now that I got my new adapter.

Why would I want to leave? 2000+ minutes and still very trouble free (more reliable than my land line). Faxing, dial-up connections, and voice connections all work better than if I used my Verizon land line, and the price is much more agreeable as well.

I have to admit I'm debating it. While my service has been pretty good there are two things bothering me:

1) Outgoing caller ID - I called a friend yesterday who has BellSouth POTS and they almost didn't pick up because the caller ID said "Out of Area". I don't know why outgoing caller ID is so hard to provide and it's starting to bug me.

2) When there's a problem the troubleshooting is a pain, and what I mean here is it Vonage or my ISP? I had a problem a month or so ago that took several weeks to resolve, working with Time Warner and this forum. It would be nice to just call one company to deal with it.

I don't want to go back to POTS, but Time-Warner's digital phone is starting to look better, even though it's about $15 more per month and has many less features.

I've been with Vonage for 6+ months now with a Canadian virtual and LOVE IT!!! So do my friends and family from Canada!!!

In fact, I got a call from a friend in Australia the other night -- sounded like he was right in the same room with me.

After crappy sound with Packet 8 for TWO YEARS of service, I wish I had swiched sooner --- I LOVE VONAGE!! Heck, even the name/caller ID work when forwarded to a cell -- and the network disconnect when your cable modem goes down.

I could come up with a ton of other reasons I love them -- hey you want to leave, then leave -- more room for my calls on their machines.

Check your ISP -- if you're having THAT many problems, it isn't Vonage or we'd all be having those issues.

I'm leaving, too. I was happy with Vonage for about a year and a half and got lots of other people signed up. Then, about a month ago, I started having problems with most of my calls.

I called Vonage and ran diagnostics with them. Everything was good with them, so it must be with Time Warner Cable.

I called Time Warner Cable. I ran diagnostics with them. All is good on their side, so the problem must be Vonage.

I hooked up a corded phone to the Motorola phone adapter. Same crappy sound.

I went around with this circle twice with no resolution except "it's not us". I can't fix the problem, but it's my problem to fix. Maybe the problem is Time Warner Cable and maybe it's Vonage. (I suspect that the Motorola phone adapter isn't working correctly.) Bottom line is that I need phone service.

So I signed up with Time Warner Cable for phone service. It costs a bit more and has fewer features than Vonage, but it has one feature. If it doesn't work, they have to fix it. There's no one else to blame.

I considered leaving many times, I think the worst part of Vonage has been the customer service, if you can call it that. I really despise waiting on the phone for an hour and having someone who can't even formulate a sentence in english answer my questions.

Not to mention the rudeness of some of the representatives. Whats the point of not outsourcing if your representatives from the USA dont have a good grasp of the language and are just as rude as those over seas?

I'm happiest with Vonage when I dont have to deal with them and with their problems in the past couple week I can understand you wanting to leave...not to mention they wont ever even throw you a bone like a credit or something to keep you as a customer.

Sometimes I feel like Ive been taken advantage of too..I do not blame you for leaving.

Do you deserve a credit? And what would it be for? Just to keep you as a customer >.> LMAO. Anyway. I agree the India support does suck both for the customer and if you get a call transfer from there. The most irrate customers come from India....That is to be expected.

Rant and Rave all you want, you got Vonage for one simple thing.......

Not having to pay a high phone bill again.....

So good game...still not happy read my sig.
