Has anyone used Winfax (the software to fax documents through their computer...NOT by an external fax machine)...while using Vonage? If so, how do you use it? And how well did it work? If you did, could you let me know step by step instructions on how you set it up to work. I called Vonage and one time the techs said it will work with Vonage and another time they said it won't...so I don't think they know themselfs. I found the techs seem to not really know what they are doing. Any help in this matter would be helpful!!!! |

I've had no problems as all using WInfax with Vonage. First, which voice adapter do you have and what modem are you trying to use?
If you're using the RTP300, there's no additional steps you need to take. Some have had better luck throwing a DSL filter between the phone port of the RTP300 and their devices, but I've not had the need for that. So far I've used a Lucent Winmodem and USR Courier modem with Vonage & had excellent success with no special settings. |

Tried to fax using winfax (RTP-300) with no success.
Downloaded mightyfax and it went thru first shot. Mightyfax (I have no interest in product) is preset to 9600 and error correction off. |

Yup: I've used Winfax with Vonage through a Motorola VT-1005, and a Lucent Winmodem. It's hit-and-miss, though mostly hit. The problem appears to be long faxes: The connection just doesn't stay high-quality long enough for 15-20 pages. I've rarely had any trouble with 2-3 page faxes. |
