I have set up my phone service and it is working properly, but when I try to set up the 911 service I get the following in my email:
Unfortunately the address you provided failed our 911 Address Matching Test.
What do they want me to do about that? This is a home that has been there for 3 years. The address is correct. It's where they mailed me my Vonage adapter! I don't know what to do. Has anyone else out there run across this issue?
Thanks,
Mike |

No no no...LOL, I HAVE an adapter that Vonage sent me. It works great. All I asked the Customer Service was whether my friend's old adapter that she was giving me could be used as a ROUTER. They said no, that it was proprietary. They said that it was worthless to me and that I could not use it as a router. |

The only thing I have received is that notice that they cannot match the address. I guess I will have to call Customer Service. I can't imagine what the problem is with the 911 setup.
And thank you for the welcoming. This board has been very helpful to me. |

No problem!
Like I mentioned it have to match identically. It took me a few tries to get it accepted with the particular way it was in the system.. |

Well there isn't much to correct on my address at all. It's in a neighborhood in a good sized city, not in out the country. The only thing that I can think to change is the abbreviation from Dr. to Drive. I guess I can try that next. I sure hope to get it fixed soon. It freaks my wife out not to have it. |

How long does it take to get your 911 address validated ? Mine was put in on July 11 and it still says pending validations for 5+ weeks. |

I had waited for 2 weeks until someone suggested the following:
go to this address (US post office): http://zip4.usps.com/zip4/welcome.jsp
type your address in there, then copy it over as faithfully as you can (I realize that Vonage's form won't accept everything it shows) and submit it. Mine verified the same day after that. The only difference I had was changing Drive to DR |

You're probably right. I think that's a great suggestion. I did compare what they put in for my address. The only difference besides all caps lol, was the full zip 76248-6720. I had entered only 76248. I wish I could get on Vonage.com and enter it. When I go there to alter the address, all I get is the following:
WE WERE UNABLE TO PROCESS YOUR REQUEST FOR 911 DIALING: YOU CANNOT DIAL 911. Please contact Vonage customer care to resolve the problem.
I guess I'll have to call them. I wonder why they locked it instead of just letting me alter it.
Thanks again for the post office address suggestion. That'll be the one I give them when I call.
