After several attemps to activate 911 dialing I received a message that Vonage was unable to process my request for 911 dialing and to contact customer support. I called and tech support said that a 3rd party would have to take care of the problem and it would take 2 weeks to clear up. What do I do between now and then if I have an emergency? |

Do you stil have a POTS line? I know in some areas the lines are hot just for 911..also you can use a cellphone if need be. Also the Vonage system can be picky about how the address is entered. I had to put a space in mine where I did not think one existed. |

Try going to this website: http://zip4.usps.com/zip4/welcome.jsp
Put your address in there and post it exactly as it spits it back out in Vonage's 911 box and it should clear within 24 hrs. |

Re: the last post on this subject, no problem finding my address there at the link provided but unfortunately it doesn't appear that Vonage uses the same. In speaking with a Vonage CS rep, they indicated they use mapquest to verify addresses...here's the response I got from Google Maps when I queried them about the source of their data (I like google map system a lot better than mapquest, but both Google and Mapquest has no reference to my address). I am in new construction but AAA already has maps out that show address, as well as the link posted previously. Oh well, being an x-EMT and Cop I can take care of most things that 911 provides, but it is always nice to have backup...I hope this process is resolved soon. It appears to be a weak link in an otherwise awesome service.
Regards

At this point it wont allow me to enter another address. I guess it locks you out after so many tries and forces you to call customer service. |

Well, I tried this but I can't do it exactly. I did change "Court" to 'CT" but Vonage will not allow me to enter "MD" and put "Maryland" nor does Vonage allow for the 9 digit zip code.
I've waited over 5 weeks for 911 to be active without any response from Vonage. I changed "Court" to "CT" so maybe that will help. |

On mine it wanted me to change Drive to DR... had waited 2 weeks for it to change, but after changing Drive to DR it came back as verified on the same day. |

Yeah, I know... that's where this forum shines...and unfortunately Vonage CS misses it. At least we know this way works. |
