Does the fax line have a second number. could i transfer calls to voice mail. or have a second number people could call me at i got the unlimited business plan that comes with a fax line. and dont know if it has a seperate number. or that i have to order another number

I have the fax line. Yes, it's a separate second number, but it has no voicemail, etc., so I doubt you'd want to forward calls to it. I actually have never TRIED to forward a number to it, but I assume it's possible.

Since you don't have the ability for distinctive ring on the fax line, you'd either have to make it manual connection on your end or set it up with the prompt to callers to activate your fax remotely. (My HPG85 is either distinctive, manual or automatic.) If you have a fax with an answering machine, you could possibly do what you're outlining -- you could just test it out and see if it worked the way you wanted it to.

I have the unlimited business account with the fax line also. Here is my setup... Calls come into my main line, if I am on that line or am not available calls will forward to my fax line (it can handle voice calls and I have had great luck with this, it just doesn't have all of the bells and whistles, voicemail, call forwarding, etc) if I am on the 2nd line or if I am unavailable my calls will then transfer to voicemail.

Most of the regular features work. Any option that you have to program via the dashboard does not work.

ok my box jsut came and i have 2 pcs the one that is connected to Vonage wont conect online and i suck at networking. plus what is teh #for teh fax line is it seperate. what is teh fax line number or should i tell Vonage they forgot to give it to me or is it my voice mail number. I like the svc so far just called my buddy in canada, california. im just dont know how to do port forwarding i hav th network everywher router from linksys 4 port dsl cable router.

ok got teh fax number plugged in but no dial tone on fax is this normal.

Having no dial tone is normal on the fax line (port 2) if you have not activated the line. But if you have activated the line you should have dial tone.
