I have not given up but I do not have it working. I had our phone tech come out to make sure they were hooked up right which they were. I just can not get it to break the line to the co. I dial a number if it is not nine the next number causes centrex to give me an error tone since i didn't dial a nine. I don't know if these mitel smart-1's are even still working or what!

OK... Please reconfirm that you have the following set in your 812 search table..."91#4#9#9#9#9#9#9#9#9#9#6##" which translates out to "Dial 9, dial 1, accept any digit 2-9, accept any nine digits, stop screening for more digits and connect the call". You should be able to then dial 9 1 (xxx) xxx-xxxxx which is what I understand you want.

Next, do you have anything set in for any other 8XX search table. If so, what is it?

I did do that, I am actually wanting to stop it from us having to dial the "9" when I pick up the phone. I can't get this thing to stop wait to see what I dial and then decide. I do have all the search tables cleared out also. If anyone has programmed a PIC in one of these and knows how to do that it is the same situation I am in. Please help. Thanks you for all your help so far sorry I can't seem to use it to get this working.

Hmmm. I don't know which version of the Smart-1 manual you have, but in my copyPages 54-555 discuss the X25 and X26 registers which address the matter having to dial "9" to get out.

If register 126 is set to "1" for enabled then the Smart-1 will look for the digit specificed in the 125 register...which would be "9" in your case. If I read this correctly then when you dial "9" this is discarded and sets you on the way to dial the rest of the number.

Now I understand that this may be a moot point with you as you actually want the Smart-1 to dial the 9 for you automatically.

Route register 604/614/624 etc. might read "604 9##" (page66 or thereabouts). This looks like it might automatically add the "9" you seek.
