I have been a customer for 8 or 9 months now and anytime I come into the forums and anytime I access my voicemail section of my account, the webpages load slow. Its funny because when you ask a vonage tech about it, they say "really"? I have tested with multiple browsers at various times (fresh reinstall of OS and not). Its not me...
When people call me, there is a long delay (5-20 seconds) from the last right to voicemail. I run a business and customers hang up before the voicemail because the norm is only a couple seconds if that and they think something is wrong. Something is wrong! I complained about this a few weeks ago when I called a tech and they said it was somethign they were working on. It didnt happen for a couple days and now its back. I have tested my speed with the VOIP speed tests and based on what I have read in this forum, its all good. Its not me...
With all of the other little quirks, I am getting frustrated. I get the impression that the company focus' too much on new customer instead of satisfying the current ones. For being #1, I wonder if all VOIP is this bad...
Am I the only one who experiences these issues? |

No, you are not the only one who has complained about these problems. Only you can decide if Vonage is a value for you. Not many other providers even offer voice mail via the web so you are not going to get better service on that from someone else.
Vonage must focus on obtaining customers. The majority of phone service will be VoIP within several years. This is going to occur when the ILECs convert their customer bases over. They are going to have a built in advantage over Vonage because they already own most of the customers. If Vonage is going to survive it has to be large enough to be able to compete at the same economy of scale as an ILEC.
Vonage has already made the choice to continue to grow the customer base rather than to achieve early profitability. Obtaining customers is the number one priority. In the long run, Vonage's decisions may seem like they are hurting you, but their mere presence forces more wide spread deployment of VoIP and their presence in the market after the ILECs enter will force the incumbents to provide quality service. |

You prove some good points that I hadn't thought of. I just want my service to work fine without bugs. After reading this forum, I wish Vonage took better care of the current customers while attracting more.
