OK setting:
Is set to ring for 20 seconds before being forwarded to 1-(630)-xxx-yyyy. If busy or unanswered for 15 seconds, will forward to Voicemail.
The above works as expected. Now, if the 15 seconds period is increased to 16 and above, the call gets forwarded all right, but a bit later, either it gets disconnected or the ringing turns into a busy tone. Did not go to Voicemail.
Problem happens for both forwarding to cell phone or landline.
Here's what Vonage tier 2 Tech Support has to say:
Thank you for contacting customer care at Vonage. Unfortunately, call forwarding from Vonage phone to cellphone is currently a known issue. The only fix to this is to set it anywhere under 15 second. We are currently working on this issue and we anticipate a global fix soon. Thank you. -- Regards, Mahek Vonage Customer Care Tier-II Support
I Sent back an email saying the problem is not just for cellphones. |

I'm curious if anybody can set the no-response time at the second number to be larger than 15 seconds before going to Voicemail ? |

I have my Vonage set to ring for 11 seconds (first number) then it rings on my cell (setting is 17 seconds) then it goes to voice mail.
Works perfectly.
I find that with these settings, I get 3 rings on my Vonage, then 3 rings on my cell phone and then it goes to voice mail.

Well, I heard back from tech support claiming that they have moved my Vonage line to another server. It works OK now.
I'm leary about this "moving to another server" thing. I had a Network Availability Number problem before and it was fixed by Vonage moving me to another server. The current problem was also fixed by "moving me to another server". I hope the next time they need to move me to another server, it won't be the same server that gave me one of the previous problem ! |

In my experience, what "moving to another server" actually means is that during the move they corrected the provisioning error that caused that flaw. I provision telephone service, and let me tell you, there are a lot of parameters (options) involved with call forwarding. Type one thing wrong and it gets messed up. |
