for me it wouls be about $43 a month plus tax, for something similar to Vonage. I was so glad when I found Vonage. I switched in a heart beat, and never plan on going back, excpet maybe to get a local number, and then I would have that transferred to Vonage.
I forgot to metnion, my POTS is trying to do Voip, but they don't quite get it yet. It's $29.99 a month plus those lovely taxes, just for local calling, no long distance at all. Maybe they will catch on soon. |

I actually have both POTS and Vonage. I could never get my DirecTivo to phone home on Vonage and my alarm company couldn't even spell Voip.
SBC (Texas area) offer a "measured calling" plan. You pay $5.99 for 25 calls per month, plus taxes (which are more than the line). Each call there after is $.08, so my total charges are like $6.50 and my total bill is right at $14. I'm on the 500/min for $15 plan with Vonage, so my telcom charges are right at $30/mth. Still beat my old SBC bill of $43, so I'm out ahead. |
