As you all know Time Warner and AOL merged well I am and longtime user of AOL but when I got my vonage service I had to switch to RR because AOL didnt support voip. I did manage to pick up RR for $29.95 for 6 months and was able to retain my AOL accounts for $14.95
Now the good part... As of August 1 (thats in my area) If you have a RR account you can get an AOL account for "free" Thats right "free"
Now my RR/AOL account will only be $44.95 after the 6 months is up plus I get to keep my families 7 screen names and favorite places ..... Saving money is making money $$$$
So if you have RR and want an AOL account all "aboard"..... My 4 kids have basically grown up on AOL and It is user friendly and custumizable<<<<(whats that) We all use IE or Mozilla too
Any way thought I would share this.. I know it was available in some areas before now... but I caught it right before my next bill to AOL ....
Now do you think they would have let me know about this "little secret" had I not done some research........I guess I'll never know

Colvard,
Here in NY, they been advertising the RR with Free AOL thing on TV. I contacted my local RR tech support right now in order to get the free package, I have to call AOL. I've called twice and no one seems to know what I'm talking about. I went back and fourth with RR and AOL tech support a few times. It's not that big a deal for me as I've never used AOL, I was just trying to get the ease of use for my sister and mother who are technophobes.
It's pretty new. I was reading on another forum that it's only been implemented system wide about 2 weeks ago.
In NC they have an automated sign up form online.. So I guess once it completely "rolls out" it will be more user friendly to sign up.

It rolled out in my area Sept 1.... If you have an AOL account than you have to contact AOL to tell them that you have a RR account now and would like to keep your screen names.... but if you have a RR account than you can just go to AOL.com and sign up for free simple

I just tried signing up, it keeps asking for a credit card I guess I'll wait until they have a special signup section for RR users. |
