Post subject: Forwarding to another Vonage number
I just signed up for a second
Vonage
account for my business. Until the new ATA arrives, I wanted to forward the new number to my existing
Vonage
account. When I dial the new number I get congestion tone. Does
Vonage
intentionally deny forwarding from one
Vonage
number to another? Forwarding to numbers outside their network works just fine.

I am having the same problem... I have a
Vonage
Small Business account also. Here is my setup... I have calls going to my main line and then after 15-seconds the calls will route to my alt. line. But instead of routing they are getting the fast busy signal.
Does anyone know how to fix the problem?
Thanks,
Keith

I just talked with tech support. BTW: They answered within 1-minute.
Basically this will work, however all of your accounts must be within the same
Vonage
server. If you call them they can make sure this happens.
What is going on is that your number is forwarding to another number that
Vonage
understands, but when that happens their servers are expecting one result and getting another. When they move all of your accounts to the same server the results come out just as they expect.
