so i am using Vonage with a linksys wrtp54g on roadrunner. and i have the uniden TRU 8860. when i get voice mail the voice mail indicator in the 8860 will flash like it should but when i call my voice mail and delete my message, most times the voicemail indicator keeps flashing untill i call back again and listen to my deleted messages and delete all messages from my deleted messages.

and yesterday i got a voicemail and went onto the Vonage website to listen to it and to delete it. and then i deleted it from deleted items via the website. and my voice mail light on the TRU-8860 phones are STILL flashing. i tried everything and i cant get it to stop. why is that feature so fickle? how can i make it stop flashing.

Bdee1, there has been a few issues with VM indicator over the past few weeks. It is an issue they are working on and if you are like me hate seeing the light when there is not really a message there. But it is a minor inconvience. I know there was a service posting yesterday, but forgot exactly what it was...Maybe Dan can dig it up...

Try resetting your adapter. That worked for me.

ok i will try resetting the adapter - thanks for the tip. i really hope they get this worked out soon because it canbe really annoying

try calling back into your voicemail and then exit using the "*" key instead of just hanging up. I've noticed that will sometimes fix this problem for me.

yea i have noticed that that helps sometimes too but in this case it didnt do the trick.

FWIW, My Vonage VM indicator has worked a lot better than when I was using RCN's (cable co) non-VOIP phone service.... Most of the time even once messages were deleted, the dial tone would STILL stutter and tell me I had messages..

Very annoying to call in and hear "You have no messages in your mailbox!"

The stuttering dialtone is telling you that you have new messages in your voice mailbox.
