I've had Vonage about 6 months generally with few problems. For the past few days, however, I get a dialtone but after dialing hear just silence. I even wait a couple of minutes before giving up. The call log on the webpage reflects a completed call even though I didn't hear anything. Similarly, a caller to my Vonage number hears nothing even though the phone does ring. When I answer, there is silence at both ends. No answer to email to customer support so far. I'm using a cisco ata. |

the only time i've had this going on is when Comcast was screwed up and we were not getting good upload/download speeds -- during the "mydoom" mess and then they said we had a router going out in our county. you may want to check your up/down speeds and be sure there's nothing going on with your server
good luck,

This can happen if you don't have the right ports forwarded through your router. See the installation instructions on the Vonage web site. I think the port numbers above 10,000 carry voice data and can cause the problem you describe. If you don't have a router in front of your ATA, then I have no idea what is the cause of your problem. |
