RIP to my RT31P2....
After a hard working year, he went offline for 2 hours last night and finally died this morning after easy being worked 4-5 hours a day..

Lost both phone port lights, and did not connectivity through the router to the internet. I called tech support, and pre-empted them will all the resets I had already done, power cycling etc. They had me try looping the router, etc, to no avail. I was then bumped to his supervisor, tried a few factory resets, etc, but the router was declared dead at 11:53 AM today...flatlined...

Granted it was a VERY long call to the techline (thanks Cingular for rollover minutes) but my new router should be overnighted to me...Good technicians, no battles with them, etc. A very pleasent albeit long call.

I just wanted a moment of silence for one of the hardest working devices I have ever had...poor little buddy. Sad

Sorry to hear about the passing of your RT31P2.

May your new replacement (RTP300?) live long and prosper!

It'll be interesting to get your feedback on the differences between the 2.

Thanks..I wanted to get a newer model anyways, and he must have sensed it because he went into a 2 hour coma last night then died this AM....

How many minutes did you have on that router? and with a pulse wave like that, I'm not surprised it died! No QRS complex. Just P waves and possibly T waves there.

Hmmm...he was about 6 months old, but would figure maybe 24 working weeks, at least 20 hrs a week on one line being conservative, many long family calls on the other, and some xbox live being run through it...Sooo...I would say just voice calls would be around 550 or so, one the light side..realisically it is probably pushing 700 hrs between the two lines I have...

Interesting I have a PAP2 since June 4 with 1610 minutes used seems as though... Trowski's 700 min in 6months means the unit just cooked its self from lack of use

VonageTPA have you set up a program to keep track of min. or are you just adding them up from the billing statements? Currently I have just added them up so I can see how long my PAP2 will last>>> so far no problems ( minor little caller ID issues ,phone ring, some echoing nothing of any great concern) love the simulring feature. Setting up a little program something simple.

PS..... I probably should get my router and PAP2 on a surge protector ASAP!!!! Whoa it slip my attention to detail headed for lightning season!!!!!! Also 1of 3 PC not protected..... off to the store
