Unable to make 3 way calls ! Has anybody had this problem before and if so did you resolve it?

2 weeks go I had the same problem, I called Vonage and the "advanced Tech support" changed my version to what he said was "an earlier working version" this fixed the problem. Now for the last 2 days I am having the same problem again.

when i called Vonage cust serviice they had no one from tech support avail so they opened a trouble ticket to call me back, that was 3 hours ago and no call back

In the meantime I’m hoping someone in the forum has an answer or suggestions.
My download speed is 2.51 Mbps, and my Upload speed is 761kbps and am using a linksys WRTP54G router. Everything else is working fine.

I've had no probs with the 3-way calling on my RTP300 (non-wireless version of the WRTP54G). Have the first call going, hit flash, dial the second number and after they've answered, hit the flash button again and everyone's joined. Now, I can't get it to work when one of the calls is with my AT&T wireless phone which has the phone number I'm trying to port to Vonage. I'm assuming seeing the same phone # connected to the same phone # confuses the system and it drops the call. Otherwise it's been working well. BIG tip is that the other party has to answer first, otherwise it won't properly switch over.

I don't have the WRTP54G, but I used to have the RT31P2, which required that you dial #92 before you initiate a conference call. Does the WRTP54G require it as well?

I still have the problem- But in paying close attention I realize the problem is "intermittent" sometimes it works, but most of the time it DOES NOT. While on the first call, hit flash, dial the 2nd number and after it’s answered, I hit the flash button again and then the 2nd call drops! This occurs whether I dial#92 or not.

After no callback for 2days, I called Vonage back and finally spoke to a tech- (in the US, not India)- he opened a new ticket-sez he doesn’t see a problem but referred to his advanced service engineers and promised to call back with status later today- He suggested I get a new phone- I was using a Panasonic 900mhz he say they have problems with Vonage? I switched to a corded phone problem was still there. He also suggested I upgrade my cable modem to a newer one I’m using a surfboard sb3100. Since everything else connected to the router is working fine- I don’t want to spend money upgrading equipment until they can convincingly identify the cause of the problem.

I'm happy with the way the service works, but disappointed to be experiencing this problem- I hope it can be resolved soon!

thanks to you guys who responded!
Smile

The only time I've ever had issues with 3-way calling is if I'm currently in a call with my AT&T wireless cell phone, which happens to be the number I'm porting to Vonage. Other than that, I'm regularly placing 3-way calls on my Vonage line. If you have the Panasonic cordless phone, try going through the setup menus and see if you can set how long the FLASH time is. On my KX-TC1871, I hit Function, down arrow a few times until I hit Program, then hit the Right arrow, scroll down to Flash time and set it from there. I have 600ms set for my flash time & haven't had a problem.
