I got a email from Vonage stating:
In regards to your number transfer request, your transfer has been rejected because we are being informed that your telephone number has been disconnected.
However my number is still active. I have been making and receiving calls on it, still am, and have not had any problems with it. The eLNP status still shows:
Current Status: Transfer in Process August 3, 2005 Awaiting Letter of Authorization August 3, 2005 Letter of Authorization (LOA) Received August 4, 2005 Transfer Sent to Carrier
My current carrier is Lingo, and I have not contacted Lingo at all since I signed up with Vonage and started the LNP, so there is no way Lingo would just disconnect the line without me asking them too. Since my number still works, and has not been disconnected, why would Vonage reject my LNP thinking the number is disconnected? Any suggestions? I replied back to the Vonage email asking them to double check the LNP. |

They just cancelled mine as well, stating that McLeod (who is not even my wireless provider, unless there is something I don't know about Cricket) doesn't do number transfers.
The whole response was vague. It's a silly process and the phone companies (including Vonage) seem to be very misleading about the whole number transfer scenario. |
