I've had Vonage for a month now, and it's working great.

However, on a number of occasions I have called my girlfriend, only to get her voicemail after the usual number if rings. The strange thing is that she was at home, and her phone never rang.

After she calls me, and I call her back directly, her phone rings as it should.

She has Bellsouth POTS and voicemail, and different area code.

I don't know if the problem is with Vonage or Bellsouth. Any ideas?

It sounds like a problem on the BellSouth side. It seems like BellSouth is not accepting calls from the Vonage CLEC until their customers call that CLEC's exchange.
