I going to guess that if you go to the Linksys site and go to Support or Downloads and enter you router model, you see the firmware available??

Uhh, no. Firmware is not available for these models at the Linksys site.

I just found this post and tried resetting, and my RT31P2 didn't get an update.

I called Vonage tech support and they said my device was "too old" to push the firmware through. So he gave me a link.

http://httpconfig.vonage.net/RT31P2_v1.30.01_000_VM_3.1.06_LI_combin_code.bin

(someone should try getting that dir listing to get beta stuff or other versions etc)

Also, someone should dl and host the file incase this link dies (I have the file saved if it does die, let me know)

Also, during the upgrade, it asks for a username and password, here's what he gave me (the first one worked for me):

user / 7756112
user / 8995533
user / 50274537

these are for the upgrade part, and not for the router itself, since I logged in afterwards with the standard admin/admin

My upgrade went fine, now I'm running firmware 1.30.01 and voice software 3.1.6 LI.

Also, he gave me some instructions:
1. unplug the WAN connection from the Vonage router.
2. restart the router (unplug 1 min)
3. upgrade firmware
4. plug in WAN and restart router

Hope this helps others.

I can confirm what you are saying. I did the upgrade yesterday and have had problems trying to VNC through my router. It will make the first connection fine then after I disconnect it will not reconnect. I have been doing this on version 1.30.00 just fine. It only started happening after I upgraded. If you do use your router for any type of port forwarding...BEWARE!

UPDATE - I powered off all my equipment and performed hard resets on all my routers. My port forwarding is working, but takes a few seconds to connect vs immediately on the older firmware. There is something flakey, but it is functional...hmmm

At least once every day my Admin page and port forwarding stop working, sometimes more than once. I have the latest firmware (1.30.01) and the latest Voice Version (3.1.6(LI)). I've tried calling tech support a couple of times and they don't seem to have a clue. Does anyone have any solid information on why this happens and/or how to resolve it?

TIA,

TR

Did this version mess with the extra 1 in long distance cid? Now all my cid devices show this. (My Panasonics did not till this week, and my modems cid show it now as well, my sony always did). The upgrade log linked to earlier for the sipura version of the software shows cid tinkering.

I have my RT31P2 at voice 3,1,6(1.1) Customized and firmware at 1.30.01 Sept 2 2005. I assume that this update occurred when following a power failure i had to reset the router.

I also have the latest firmware on my RT31P2 and have been having problems for about a month now -- my biggest problem is that my cable modem is hanging up about 30% of the time during incoming calls and about 10% of the time during outgoing calls.

Has anyone else heard of cable modems rebooting after receiving calls?

My Vonage service was great until the past month or so, but I don't know if this firmware upgrade is what is causing my problems.

Thanks for any info.
